Web Page Barter? What's this all about!?!

Back in the good old days, before the Internet, cars and the world as we know it, people bartered for stuff. It wasn't uncommon to hear things like "I will trade you three plump chickens for a bushel of corn" or "I will trade this cow for some magic beans". That, my friends, is bartering!

Bartering was a way to trade goods and services for other goods and services. If you weren't a farmer but were a good craftsmen you could trade your wagon wheels for a month's worth of vegetables.

Bartering still happens in the world, even if we don't hear about it a lot. People are swapping their products and knowledge for other people's stuff all the time. "I will trade you some plumbing work if you'll teach me to play guitar" or "I will fix your car if you'll teach my kids to speak Latin." Well, that last one may be far-fetched but you get the idea. Bartering is alive and well!

I started this site with one thought in mind (that's all I get at a time...any more and I'd be dangerous!)

Where was I? Oh yeah, one thought. I thought to my self, "Self, you are good at building web sites and other things for the Internet like logos, flash, PHP scripts and so on. You've been doing quality, affordable web design for a long time and your clients love and respect you (as far as you know). Why don't you take the same concept, but instead of making money, use it to barter for things you are looking for? You're a genius! Self, you are so smart! If you weren't me, I'd marry you!"
